Phra Somdej Nork Pim, We call Phra Somdej Wat Rakang and other temples in Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh Phomarangsi’s family which aren’t included in 5 popular Print Molds or Pim Ni Yom:(Pim Phraprathan or Pim Yai, Pim Song Chedi, Pim Khes Bua Toom, Pim THarn Saem and Pim Prok Bodhi). Actually, honorable Somdej Phra Bhuthacharn Toe Bhrammarangsri approximately made phrasomdej amulets around 2390-2400 B.E. (1847-1857) as the first period.
The first period, the printed molds were sculptured by grass root people around the temple, so they didn’t state in gracefully prints.*** That was the reason why we called (Phra Nork Pim: Those printed molds have not been included in PiM NI Yom), but what does the word "pim ni yom" mean?
The word Ni Yom means poppular, so those popular might be concerned with the marketing or market system or promotions. However, something unpopular can be the best in usage.
In the aspect of the content, during that time, the honorable Somdej Toe tried to investigate the best formula of lime mixers in each batch/ mortar. Thus we found various styles of phrasomdej that time by helping of people around the temple. However, most of the amulets in first period decay or disappear because instability of content mixers.
However, everyone who loves and indeed knows Phrasomdej always uses Phra Nok Pim because everybody believes in the supernatural power in every aspects such as protection, prosperity, wealthy, healthy, charming, etc. The wise said he had much confidence that he occupied the true amulet because the artificial fake one almost were sculptured along Pim Ni Yom. He has just ensured in considering about the amulets content.
|The middle age period of Phrasomdej is during 2400-2409 B.E., and most of the printed molds were sculptured by Luang Witchit Naruemon and Luang Sithiyotharak that have showed each one of identity styles.|
|The final period is during 2409-2414 B.E. Printed molds in this period focused on the art of Luang Witcharn Chieranai which we called Pim Niyom and were used for the three temples (Wat Rakang, Wat Bang Khun Bhrom, and Wat Khate Chai Yo).|
|The big Word “Naturalness”
The new collectors should seek the way in short-cut to decide “real or fake” amulet. If you understand about time factor and the factor how calcium oxide/ calcium carbonate work on Phrasomdej surface (like the stalagmite and stalactite). This will help you to make the right decision. According to the word “Phat-Chat-Tang”, you ought to learn by yourself with your eyes (not ears, definitely). If you ask someone, you might get a big word “Naturalness” to avoid ten hours clarifying. Perhaps, that might be too difficult for the new comers in amulet collector society to understand this word because that is skills. Thus, you don’t walk along those experts’ direction; but you should walk in opposite direction and faster than those experts. Precisely, you may scarcely find Phrasomdej that is obviously easily real-proved and beautiful; but, you have some chance to find a difficult-proved and quit beautiful one. Thus, you should research the context of amulets’ texture first and the print mold/ blocks are the next or later issues by using the science about surface of calcium carbonate development like the stalagmite to help. We bet you will get the genuine one, especially, if you can pray the Shinnabhanchara mantra of Somdej Phra Bhuthacharn Toe Bhrammarangsri.
